Aled's Most Recent Blog Post

Aled is back from filming all week and resting before his BBC Radio 2 show on Sunday from 6-9am.  Radio Wales is midday and Radio 3 Sunday evening.  Aled also plays Carlisle on the 25th May.  This weekend there may be some work taking place on the site so we apologise if there are any problems accessing it. We all wish you a great weekend.

The New Website

Greetings everyone.

I hope that you like the new look of the site. We'll be adding new features every week on Friday. We hope to add something new every week for the next month so be sure to keep checking the site.

We've made a lot of changes from the other design. Hopefully mostly for the better. In the coming weeks we'll be migrating all the old pictures and content from the old site. In the mean time you can access the old site by going to:

http://www.aledjones.com/aled_old2011

Please let me know if you have any bug reports, if things aren't working or if you think that you can help out in any way.

This week the features that we are releasing are:

  •

Video Blogs from Aled

Ability to comment directly on his blogs

Fan Photos - Yes now you can actually comment directly on his blogs instead of just using the forum.

Please do get involved. Email me at aledsupport@coyledesign.co.uk if you have any comments or suggestions that you'd rather not share on the forum.

Kindest Regards,

Kevin and the whole Aled Jones Team.

Wow, it seems I am the first forum member to visit the new site :D

Have I won any prize?? ;)

Of course, I do.

Most I like the blue colour. It matches Aled's eyes :)) And my cycling shirt...

I think you and I both posted together Magda. I replied to "Add new comment" under Aled's blog smiley

I don't know what happened to my first comment, but I love the video blog that Aled has made as a welcome. Thanks Aled, can we have these regularly, I love it!  xxx

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your hard work on the site - looking good!

Just a couple of things I've noticed - the 'top' 'reply' and 'quote' buttons under each new post on the forum seem to be very hard to read, and if there's the option to have a white background when composing these replies, that may be a little easier too :)

Any chance we could have a direct 'submit/'post' button back on the forum too rather than having to preview posts every time, and also the option of having the most recent post at the bottom of the replies, rather than the top? I seem to remember these were options played around with at the start of the last forum :)

Thanks,

Brina.

HI Brina,

I've changed the colours on the buttons just now too - thanks for pointing that out. I'll reverse the order of the forum too so it's like an ordinary forum!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for doing that :)

Well done Kevin, you've done a great job once again! I love the fresh, slick look of the website - the blue is perffect.

I'm sure there'll be many exciting additions and returning familiar features as time goes on - hopefully the cumulative 'Aled's Previous Blogs' list as before, and the note of who is online plus the number of guests visiting at any one time.

Please pass on my thanks to Aled for his video welcome - a really nice personal touch there!

Hi Susie. I've moved the previous blogs section to the Blog section. If you hover over Home on the menu you'll see a drop down. The blogs are there!

Wonderful, Kevin - many thanks. Just love being able to read back over Aled's blogs.

Just wondering if all the Fan Pictures will be migrating over from the old Forum, or will we need to submit more?

I'd love it if you submitted them again. But I'll be slowly migrating them over.

Hi Kevin,

Yes, I'd be happy to resubmit the pictures I'd sent to the previous Forum - it will save you some work I'm sure when you're so busy already.

Thanks so much too for giving the full access now to the old site - it had only given access to the Homepage when the new site was launched.

You're a great help Susie. Some of the content from the old site I could migrate automatically - a lot has to be done manually.

Hi Kevin,

I dont know if its my computer or what, but when I try to view the "Latest News" on the home page, I cannot get past page three. The arrow you are supposed to click on, disappears behind the bar at the bottom which makes it inoperable.

Todd.

Kevin,

The website looks really great. Thanks for your hard work!

My wish list: smiley

I think it would be very useful to place on the home page the options: log in/ log out. I can see whether I’m logged or not only when I enter the forum page or blog section. It appears mostly I’m logged on but there is no rule (my computer remembers me but I was incidentally asked to log on when I was trying to place some comment).

And I can’t see the log out option – in my opinion it would be absolutely necessary when using e.g. an internet cafe.

I guess it is technically impossible to transfer the whole content from the previous forum. So we all have to start from scratch. But is it possible to place a user’s number of posts under his/her name or make ranks? Do the others think it’s a good idea? And it could be interesting to see how many times each topic was read.

That’s what I’ve noticed by now.

I know it requires much time to make the website perfect and I’m sure we all wait patiently until you upload all treasures here wink And I support you spiritually angel

Magda

There's now a log out button underneath the fans section :)
