Aled is back from filming all week and resting before his BBC Radio 2 show on Sunday from 6-9am. Radio Wales is midday and Radio 3 Sunday evening. Aled also plays Carlisle on the 25th May. This weekend there may be some work taking place on the site so we apologise if there are any problems accessing it. We all wish you a great weekend.

Deep sympathies for Deborah Hollamby
Aled had the incredibly sad task on GMS this morning of passing on the tragic news of the death of one of his regular and amazing faith guests for GMS, Deborah Hollamby.
Deborah had suffered from breast cancer some time back which she had recovered from, but tragically it returned and she lost her fight on the 6th December.
Deborah was greatly respected, and I for one found her immensely inspirational, insightful and wise.
Heartfelt sympathies to her husband, two young children, family, friends and colleagues for their desperate loss.

I'd also like to add my sympathies and condolences on Deborah's passing. Her chats with Aled on GMS were always so full of joy, peace and hope - always a delight to listen to at such an early hour!
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends, and of course Aled and all the team at GMS. Deborah may no longer be here in person but I'm sure that her memory will live on and all that she stood for will never be forgotten by those who knew her.

I too felt shocked and saddened to hear that Deborah had lost her fight with cancer and remember her upbeat and hopeful talk with Aled back in April. It must be even harder to bear the loss so near Christmas and with having such a young family the grief her husband must be coping with must be almost unbearable. It was evident from Aled's announcement how deeply he has felt the loss too. If anyone was equipped to face death bravely, Deborah certainly was and may she rest in peace.

Father D'arcy tried to comfort Aled with a few memorable phrases:
He said "....eventually the healing comes. The wonderful thing about bereavement is that when somebody close to you dies you never get over it but you learn to cope with it. You walk on... but with a limp."
Fr D'arcy went on - "Somebody who is remembered never dies"
